The quiet relaxed atmosphere in pleasant suroundings along with the helpful attitude of the staff.

There was obviosly a problem with the alarms while we were there but it didn't cause any problems.

    beautiful building with original features

only one towel in a double room, room temp far too hot, water cold in evening so not able to have a shower. No choice given at anytime about a full english breakfast, informed at the table that there was an extra charge for one. Drive way to hotel a big let down - first impressions very bad!

Poor quality , no golf course , bad location , credit card charge , cokked breakfast £6 extra on top !!!

Hidden charges & they have no links with any golf courses

They did not advise that they had two wedding parties on the same day as our stay

Arrived late but no problems with access etc.

A wedding party was completely seperate from the bar so did not disturbe a quiet drink after a busy day, nor did it make it too busy to get served.

The reception staff were a little rude both when I checked in and out. Restaurant staff seemed inexperienced

  • Older travelers

The function room, food and organisation were very good

Did not like waiting 45 mins for coffee and (home cooked biscuit that never arrived) Did not like attic room with damp patch/wallpaper coming off wall. Did not like paying the same as guests not staying in attic room and who had full breakfast included, also failed to enjoy an attempt to charge £12.50 each for cooked breakfast when £5 was the correct figure.

The staff were very attentive and the hotel was nice and clean but the driveway needs sorting out.

Hotel is in very good grounds,is clean with a range of food options. More than happy to stay there for business or leisure and would normally try to book in there when working in the area.

The sredit card fee of £3.95 on top of any stated room cost is a bit unexpected. I would prefer the hotel to be up front about it when a booking is made.

no complaints at all. everything was lovely especially the roast beef

  • Group of friends

friendly staff. comfortable rooms. nice grounds

overpriced food and drink and VERY small portions

  • Older travelers
    6.2

The staff were friendly, the resturant was good and the food excellent. Facilities existed for wheel chair access down some stairs but despite being on two crutches to walk I was not ask if I required any assistance.

The turning off the main road was not clearly marked and we finished up up in a garden centre and a member of staff advised us that it often happens. A single track road led to the hotel and it was full of pot holes. If a vehicle came towards you down the road one of the vehicles had to reverse the full length of the road to let itt pass. I understand the road is owned by someone else and accidents have happened on the road. The wall paper in the bedroom was dark and dismal and looked dated and in need of replacement. The matress is due for replacement with the springs being noisy. Despite completing feedback form at the hotel and handing it into reception I have still been sent same for on internet.

The staff were very friendly and the bar food was great.

The food was good and the staff pleasant and efficient

I did not like the way we were charged £3.95p for using a credit card. This does not happen in many (if any) that i have used in the past
